From 2007 to 2009 The World Bank in collaboration with J-PAL conduct a randomized evaluation of the Generasi program. Based on the evaluation findings, the program was then expanded. However, since the expansion took place almost entirely in new provinces, the original randomization remained intact. Eight years after the program began, 156 of the 181 sub-districts originally randomized to receive the program continued to receive it every year through 2014. Eight of the 83 sub-districts originally randomized to the control group have remained as controls.
The Generasi Impact Evaluation is a longitudinal study was conducted in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Taking advantage of the randomized design and the data collected by the World Bank, another round of evaluations is being conducted in 2016. The Impact Evaluation consists of both a quantitative and qualitative component. Working with PSKK - Gadjah Mada University, The World Bank has conducted a Household Survey Training of Trainer from September 18-22, 2016. The Generasi IE Qualitative Team has just completed the data collection in Gorontalo and a data collection workshop for the Working Group (Pokja) was conducted last week.
